Please write a short letter in your own words and email it to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as well as forwarding it to the UNAMI and UNHCR. Please include your contact details at the end of your letter.

•Guidelines for contacting the United Nations Secretary General:

·         It would be most effective if the letter could be written in your own capacity. You could mention who you are and that you have for many years been following the humanitarian situation at Camp Ashraf.

·         You could point out that Iraq’s Prime Minister is bent on destroying Ashraf at the Iranian regime’s behest, and you could refer to the 8 April attack which left 36 residents killed and 350 injured.

·     You could point out that there is still a siege of the camp, with residents denied access to relatives, doctors, journalists and lawyers.

·         Urge UN and Mr Ban Ki Moon to intervene and take practical measures to guarantee safety and security of all Ashraf residents. Iraqi government and Nouri Al-Maliki’s promises could not be trusted.
